ATTENTION ASSISTED HOUSING LANDLORDS AND FAMILIES

The Fort Worth Housing Authority recently began implementation of new housing software that will result in more efficient service and increased productivity.

The implementation is being completed in stages. The first Housing Assistance Payments and Utility Assistance Payments through this system are being made in May 2010.

Please note the following important points related to this action:

· The landlord payment detail statements for May 2010 will be mailed through the United States Postal Service on Monday, May 3, 2010. They will not be available on the website. We plan to have the statements available on the website again in June 2010.

· Landlords who are scheduled to be paid by direct deposit will receive the direct deposits in their bank accounts no later than Tuesday, May 4, 2010.

· New landlords who are scheduled to receive their payments though a physical check will have their checks mailed to them on Monday, May 3, 2010.

· Families who receive Utility Assistance checks will have their checks mailed to them on Monday, May 3, 2010.

· We are asking all landlords and families to review their payments and statements carefully. You may report problems by calling (817)333-3604. Please leave a message with the specific information about the problem and someone will call you back after researching the matter.

· The Interactive Voice Response System for obtaining information on the Wait List and Inspections results via telephone will not be available until the summer.

· Inspectors will begin using portable handheld computers this summer when conducting on-site inspections thus making results more timely.

· We are very excited about the changes we are making and look forward to improved services in the long run. However, the first few months of any software conversion may have its challenges. We appreciate your understanding and assistance.
